TSPi Position Description – Tester – Junior

Position Title: Tester – Junior

Years of Experience: 2+

Clearance Required: Public Trust

Degree: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job-related experience

 

As a Tester at TSPi, you will play a vital role in our software testing team, responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a passion for software testing. You will work closely with senior testers and developers, executing manual test cases, identifying defects, and providing valuable feedback to enhance our software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

· Test Execution: Execute manual test cases based on test plans and project requirements, identifying and documenting defects and anomalies.

· Defect Reporting: Log and track defects using designated tools, providing clear and concise steps to reproduce issues for developers.

· Test Documentation: Catalog and maintain test scenario library, keep the Team apprised of test results through automated and dashboard-style reporting using Selenium, Ready API, Jira, and Confluence

· Test Environment Setup: Assist in setting up and configuring test environments for various projects, ensuring they mirror the production environment as closely as possible.

· Regression Testing: Participate in regression testing to validate bug fixes and ensure that previously working functionalities remain unaffected.

· Test Strategy: Collaborate with senior testers and team leads to understand test requirements and contribute to the development of test strategies.

· Continuous Improvement: Suggest process improvements, identify opportunities to streamline testing activities, and adopt industry best practices.

· Communication: Effectively communicate testing progress, results, and concerns with team members and project stakeholders.

· Quality Assurance: Contribute to maintaining and enhancing the overall quality assurance process to deliver high-quality software products.

 

Required Skills:

Candidates applying for this role should possess the following qualifications and skills:

· Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to accurately identify defects and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

· Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to understand project requirements, identify potential risks, and devise effective test cases.

· Test Methodologies: Familiarity with software testing methodologies and best practices for manual testing.

· Test Documentation: Proficiency in creating and maintaining test documentation, such as test cases and test scripts.

· Bug Tracking: Basic knowledge of bug tracking tools and systems to log and manage defects.

· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate test results and collaborate with team members.

· Adaptability: Ability to adapt quickly to changing project requirements and priorities.

Additional Preferred Skills:

Candidates with the following skills and experience will be given preference:

· Test Automation: Basic understanding of test automation concepts and tools (e.g., Selenium).

· Software Development Fundamentals: Knowledge of software development processes and programming languages.

· Agile Methodology: Exposure to Agile development methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
